Description
The cable construction features optical fibers housed in a high-modulus plastic loose tube filled
with a water-resistant compound. At its core, a steel wire, sometimes sheathed with polyethylene
for high fiber count cables, serves as the metallic strength member. Surrounding this core, tubes
and fillers are stranded to form a compact, circular cable core. The core is fully filled with a
compound to prevent water ingress, followed by the application of a thin PE inner sheath. The
cable is further reinforced with a longitudinally applied PSP layer and completed with a PE outer
sheath to enhance durability and protection against external elements.
