High-Performance Double Sheath ADSS Fiber Optic Cable

 

Description

The ADSS optical fiber cable structure employs a loose tube layer stranded design, housing 250µm fibers

within a high modulus material-filled tube, effectively waterproofed. This setup, along with a non-metallic

central reinforcing core (FRP), creates a compact cable core, further fortified by water blocking ointment to

fill any gaps. An inner polyethylene (PE) sheath is extruded over the cable core, reinforced with aramid for

strength, and finally enclosed in a polyethylene (PE) or AT outer sheath. This design is adaptable for various

high-voltage transmission lines. For 10kV and 35kV power lines, PE sheathing suffices; however, for 110kV

and 220kV lines, calculations of electric field distribution dictate hanging point placements, necessitating an

AT outer sheath. The aramid fiber quantity and stranding process are finely tuned to meet different span re-

quirements.
