Reinforced With Aramid Yarn For Enhanced Tensile Strength ADSS

 

Description

The ADSS (All-Dielectric Self-Supporting) cable follows a construction sequence where fibers are housed

within a high modulus plastic loose tube and filled with a water-resistant compound. These tubes, along with

fillers, encircle a Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) core, shaping a dense, circular cable core. Post-filling, a thin

PE (polyethylene) inner sheath is added to shield the core. Strengthening further, a layer of aramid yarns is

stranded over the inner sheath. Finally, the cable is finished with either a PE or AT (anti-tracking) outer sheath,

completing its construction.

 

Application

1 Consideration of Overhead Power Line Status: The design of the ADSS cable takes into full account the

   actual condition and specifics of  overhead power lines, ensuring compatibility and suitability.

2 Sheathing for Power Lines Below 110kV: ADSS cables intended for power lines under 110kV incorporate a

   PE outer sheath, tailored to meet the requirements of these lower voltage lines.

3 Sheathing for Power Lines at or Above 110kV: Higher voltage power lines, equal to or exceeding 110kV, are

   equipped with an AT (anti-tracking) outer sheath, providing enhanced insulation and protection against elec-

   trical tracking.

4 Aramid Design for Varied Spans: The quantity of aramid and the stranding process are meticulously designed

   to meet the demands posed by different spans, ensuring the cable's strength and reliability across varying dis-

   tances.
